Team Telecom National Security Agreement

For some time, the government and the FCC have focused their attention on Chinese influence on U.S. telecommunications networks – see for example. B the FCC`s announcement of November 22, 2019, which states that Huawei Technologies Company and ZTE Corporation are provisionally qualified as threats to the national security of U.S. networks. In principle, CFIUS audits were limited by the fact that they are a snapshot in time and that national security risks could arise long after the completion of the review. The cfIUS provisions – embodied in congressional certifications or completed transactions – have always been firm and permanent and have provided a safe haven for their depositors. Team Telecom was historically composed of the DOJ (advised and informed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Department of Defense (DOD) and, since its inception in 2004, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
